BHA and BHT. Preservatives banned in dog food in several countries and still legal here. We use natural mixed tocopherols instead, which cost more and last about as long.
Ethoxyquin. A pesticide that has shown up in mainstream fish meal for decades. We do not buy fish meal. We use whole salmon oil.
Propylene glycol and glycerin. Humectants that keep semi-moist food pliable. We do not make semi-moist food. We do not need them.
Meat-meal and animal by-product. Rendered offcuts that you cannot trace to a species or a farm. We use whole muscle meat from one named farm per recipe.
Wheat, corn, soy. Cheap bulking starches. We use oats and sweet potato instead.
Artificial colour. Dogs do not eat with their eyes. We do not pretend otherwise.
